User-Friendly Website

The Healthy Blue website meets the following standards: 

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 Level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI) standard.

  • Section 508 of the U.S Rehabilitation Act. 

 

We make sure our website is user-friendly for all members. To make sure, you can read our site we use: 

  • SkipLinks to help you move from page to page.

  • Alternative words for images and other non-text elements.

  • ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).

  • Structural markup to show headings and lists to help you understand pages.

  • Information in tables that are easy to follow.

  • Titles and title tags.

  • JavaScript and style sheets to improve website layout and performance.

 

We also make sure that links and buttons can be clicked without a mouse. Our content can be read by tools like:

  • Job Access with Speech (JAWS).

  • Nonvisual Desktop Access (NVDA).

 

Get Help In Another Language

Healthy Blue offers you services to meet your language needs. We use an interpreter service that can help with more than 150 languages. This includes American Sign Language.

 

We want you to have the right care. To do this, we offer:

  • Health education items in Spanish.

  • Customer service staff that can speak your language. 

  • Sign language and face-to-face interpreters.

  • Doctors who speak more than one language.

If You Do Not Speak English

We can provide an interpreter for you during your doctor visits. You or your doctor can call us to ask for one. Please let us know if you need this service at least three days (72 hours) before your visit. We are here Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We will set up a face-to-face or phone interpreter at no cost to you.

We can also help you get language assistance and translation of member materials. If you need our information in another language call us at 866-781-5094 (TTY: 866-773-9634).

Help for Members with Hearing Loss

We have a TTY line for members with hearing loss. The phone number is 866-773-9634. You can call us Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.  Call Relay South Carolina at 800-735-8583 or dial 711 after our hours or on weekends. 

Help for Members with Vision Loss

We offer the member handbook and other items we print in other formats for members with vision loss. Call us if you any of our materials in other formats.

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990

We follow the rules in the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. This means we cannot discriminate against you because of a disability. You can file a grievance if you believe we have treated you differently because of a disability. You can do this by calling customer service.
